Finally, Here's a release for a fundraising Wine and Food event taking place in West Palm Beach this weekend. It's for a good cause:

The Third Annual American Fine Wine Competition's (AFWC) Gala Dinner is this Saturday March 13th 2010!
The American Fine Wine Competition is one of the nation’s most prominent wine events that celebrates only American produced wine. The highly anticipated gala dinner will feature the competition-winning wines and a five-star, five-course dinner prepared by some of South Florida’s most revered chefs: Cindy Hutson of Ortanique on the Mile, Chris Northmore of the Everglades Club, Oliver Saucy of Café Maxx, Johnny Vinczencz of Johnny V Restaurant, and Michael Wagner of Lola’s on Harrison.

As guests sip and swirl the finest American produced wines, they will enjoy live entertainment by jazz singer Nicole Henry and famed performance artist Michael Israel, who will create original works of art for the live auction. Other auction items include packages of wine bottles signed by the winemakers themselves. A portion of the proceeds from the dinner, and 100 percent of the proceeds from the auction, will benefit Quantum House, the American Red Cross and the Lincoln Culinary Institute Scholarship Program. To date, the AFWC has raised more than $240,000 for local non-profits.

Tickets for the Gala Dinner are $195 per person. Weekend packages for the event are available at Spring Hill Suites and Homewood Suites in West Palm Beach, both walking distance from the Lincoln Culinary Institute. For more information on the Gala Dinner, hotel rates, ticket or sponsorship opportunities, please contact Shari Gherman at 561-504-VINE (8463) or via email at Shari@americanfinewinecompetition.com.

Please wine responsibly South Florida, and as always, Salud!
