Brief Recap On Some South Florida April Vino Happenings!

So, the month of April has come and gone. Are you ready for summer? It is quickly approaching us. And if the weather we had this weekend across South Florida is any indication, it sure forecasts to be a hot and humid summer 2010.
This past month of April I had the chance to attend a lot of different wine events. And I must congratulate our South Florida community. We're, without a doubt, expanding and reaching new heights in this intriguing wine world.
Here are some highlights of some events (Sorry if I left out anything, due to limited space) :

The Museum of Discovery And Science Wine And Culinary Event held on Friday April 16th was certainly a successful gathering and fundraiser. Now in its 15th year, the event brought a lot of people out on a windy and rainy Friday night. These folks certainly know how to put a fundraising wine and food event together.

The Miami Wine And Food Festival, also in its 15th year, had a weekend full of culinary and wine events from April 22nd to April 24th. The Fine Wine Tasting event held on Thursday April 22nd at The Village Of Merrick Park in Coral Gables had an array of delicious food made from local restaurants paired with many tasty wines.
This year's event featured celebrity Chef Todd English.
Funds raised were given to Camillus House and the United Way of Miami-Dade.

ABC Fine Wine And Spirits in Doral had an amazing wine and food tasting last Thursday April 29th. Over 12 tables outlined the store displaying many local restaurant favorites as well as some delicious wines. There was event a blind tasting game. The most accurate blind taster took home a price.
Great concept and local!

There's no doubt that South Florida always has many wine and food events going on. If you didn't have the chance to attend the ones mentioned here, or if you've never had the chance to attend any wine and food event, the time is now. Summer 2010 is set to bring us more happenings. Most of these are reasonably priced and benefit many great local charities. Support your cultural learning cause and a local non-profit. Take your significant other, a friend or someone you think will learn more about food and wine to one of these. It will only make that person a better rounded individual.

See you at the next Vino event!
Please wine responsibly, and as always, Salud!
